The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
